New requirements for DCF visa photos
« on: September 02, 2004, 08:43:05 AM »
We went to get my husband's photos on Tuesday, as our interview was Wednesday. When we got to the place in London they said requirements had changed - they are no longer requiring that 3/4 face, show your ear kind of photo, they now want you to face straight on.

So if you've got your interview soon and have the old photos, it's worth getting them taken again. I don't know if they'll accept the old kind anymore.

The law changed in the beginning on August, the 2nd or 3rd I think, the photographer showed us the official Embassy thing to prove to us that he knew what he was doing. :)

hehe. I guess I didnt post that notice here - I did it at my forum. oops.

"Everyone who's got an interview coming up will NEED to know about this photographic requirement change.

http://www.usavisanow.com/photoreq-08-04.pdf

All photos from the 1st of September 2004 will need to be full frontal photos and NOT 3/4s. Until the 1st all full frontal AND 3/4s photos will be accepted but after the 1st only the full frontals. Makes it loads easier anyway.

Might want to contact the embassy by email just to confirm that they are following this new requirement and ask that they make the information clear on their website. I only came across this by chance."

Does this new requirement also apply for the photos that need to be submitted with the I-130 application?

If you've already sent them in, don't worry about it. If you haven't, send in the new kind - but definitely get the new kind for the visa interview.

Does this new requirement also apply for the photos that need to be submitted with the I-130 application?

We sent in our I-130 on the 16th of July.  It was processed on the 7th of October after a delay that is... we had sent in the full frontal pictures however they said that our application was incomplete and we had to have the 3/4 pictures taken and resubmitted.

So to answer that question... i'm not sure.  :)
~DCF Timeline~
