Desperately Seeking Part Time Job
« on: October 22, 2013, 10:20:27 AM »
Hello,

My name is Tim and I have just recently moved to the Greater London Area for Graduate School. My student loans have not worked themselves out yet and I am desperately looking for a part time job.

I have a very large skill set and can do almost anything. I am in a horrible financial position, and in a foreign country.

If anyone knows of anything, or how to go about landing a position here, and could let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The 'greater London area' is a pretty big geographic swathe -- you might want to be a little more specific (although not, you know, your road and flat number). After all, you wouldn't want to travel from, say, Fulham to Shoreditch every day for a part-time job, given transport costs would eat up most of a minimum-wage salary and travel time would probably not be ideal.

Temp agencies? If you have a large skill set, this could be a good option for you.

I found part time work as a student by walking down my high street and responding to a help wanted sign in the window.

Good luck finding something!

Does your visa allow you to work?
When I used to be on a motorcycle forum you listed your bikes here.  On the travel forum the countries you'd been to.  Photography, your cameras / lenses.  Somehow here it's bureaucratic BS survived!  Tier 1, fiance/spouse visa, ILR, AHHH!!!!!!  I feel like putting the fees...

Does your visa allow you to work?

The OP is here on a Tier 4 student visa for grad school, so he should be allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during term time.
