Morning or Afternoon Pre-school/Nursery?
« on: October 28, 2013, 03:44:08 PM »
I am able to have my daughter get the free hours of nursery starting next term. There is a great pre-school/nursery near us that comes recommended, but thy only have afternoon sessions available (1pm-6pm). Or, I can send her to a closer yet not as highly recommended one that has morning sessions available 8-1

I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around afternoon preschool, for whatever reason :) I guess I just think of school/preschool being a morning session thing.

I am only looking for a couple of times a week, so I can have some downtime with the new baby coming in December.

Anyone have experience/preference and reasons why either was better?

Morning tends to be more highly coveted because of most kids needing an afternoon nap. I think it's harder for kids of that age in the afternoon.

Hi
My daughter is three and she attends mornings only. I wanted a balance between working and
Having her with me in the afternoon.  She will qualify
For free hours in the afternoon from January
At her nursery they offer swimming and tennis
In the afternoon so I need to make a decision as to whether
I want her to attend in the afternoons. At the moment I have her
On the routine of attending nursery in the morning and then I have her in bed by
1815 so pm nursery might change this routine   I'm not sure what I will do yet.
Will have to reevaluate around Xmas time.

Depends on what her body clock is like...if she's a must have a nap every afternoon it's a bit pointless to do afternoon preschool.  Both of mine have attended mornings but that was because I worked there in the mornings so it fit
