How much to mail a postcard?
« on: November 13, 2013, 07:41:00 PM »
Does anyone know how much it costs to mail a standard size postcard to the US?  It's been so long I can't remember, and I can't seem to find any postcard rates on the Royal Mail website.

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.

I thought postcards were the same rate as a standard letter or card in an envelope.

If you send a postcard within the UK, you just put a 1st or 2nd class stamp on it, so I would imagine that sending a postcard to the US would be the same price as sending a letter to the US.

Hmm. I don't think it is as much as a card in an envelope, because I do send a lot of cards and they are a bit expensive. I seem to remember a postcard being under 1 pound, but not sure. I think they'd be even lighter than a letter.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just pop in the post office next time I'm in town. :)

Postcards are 88p.  :)  As long as it's under 10g, anything is 88p.  :)

I've got the pdf of Royal Mail prices saved on my computer.  :)  It's been very handy sending parcels.  :)
