Aeropaws

Has anyone used Aeropaws (aeropaws.com)? They are on IPATA, and I've only found a few reviews online that are mixed (who knows if they are even real).

Shipping one cat from Detroit to London--would do it myself but am terrified she will be stuck at quarantine and I'm leaving the country a month before she is. BF is in med school and his time is worth more than the money it's going to pay a pet relocation company.

They quoted me less than $2k, for airport to airport service, which seems reasonable-ish, compared to other pet companies. Thanks for the help!

I have not. But, I did use http://www.petrelocation.com/

I was also quite paranoid that I would mess something up and land my two pugs in quarantine. So, with all the other stuff that we had going on for the move, I was more than happy to outsource the dog move (and, like you, ours came 3.5 weeks after us).

I was really pleased with their service. The cost for our two dogs was only slightly higher than 2x the cost you gave for the other company, so it may be worth getting a quote from them (if you haven't already).

Good luck! I know how stressful it is to move pets...Ours just got here about two weeks ago and I was so relieved when it was all said and done!

OP here. I had a fine experience with these guys, and got my cat with no trouble from UK customs/border people.

They were very responsive to all of my emails/phone calls, they charged the rate they quoted, there were some hiccups (not their fault) that they addressed admirably, my cat got here safe and sound and looking no worse for the trip.

I would recommend them highly (fairly inexpensive too . . . less than $2k for one cat from Detroit to London, which was much better than everything else I got quoted).

PS: To anyone using another pet agency, those prices are HIGHLY negotiable. . . I got one company to shave nearly $1k off their quote.

Glad you had a fine experience! Interesting about the idea of negotiating with the companies. That's good for folks to know.
