Change of Stay

Hi there,

I've been in the UK for a month as a visitor/ tourist. My partner and I planned on returning to the States this January where I'd apply for the fiance visa. A couple of things have changed recently and we are now planning on returning to the States in March or April (still within the 6 month limit). Do I have to notify anyone that I'm staying longer that I originally told boarder control?
