Internal EU Travel Question
« on: January 09, 2014, 09:46:47 PM »
Ok, this is probably a stupid question (or has been asked 1000 times already but I can't find it).

Hubby and I are flying with Thomson to Tenerife in about 2 1/2 weeks. I have ILE (the visa is in an expired passport, so I'll be traveling with both old and current). Will the Spanish authorities care about my UK status at all? I assume I'll have to go through the non-EU line and fill out some kind of landing card? Will the airline provide that card?

Spain doesn't care about your UK status. They just want to see your valid passport. And there isn't a landing card to fill out. You just hand them the passport.

When I flew into Spain from the UK a few years back there was definitely a landing card. I was one of only a few non-EU passengers and started going through immigration without it, then had to go back and fill it out, going to the end of the queue. :-P

I didn't think there was, but maybe I'm forgetting one.

Depends on the country whether or not you have to fill something out. Some just stamp you in.  But yeah, always go through the non-EU line.

It might depend on the airport or it may have changed recently. :-) I flew from London to either Reus or Girona about three years ago.
