Are you living in Florida?  If so, it might be best to establish residency there.  Mass is one of the states that wants you to continue paying taxes to them if you move overseas.  I am not sure about Florida, but I would look into it.

Florida doesn't have state taxes. We just pay federal. :)

Then that is super!  Make sure you have abandoned your ties to Mass.  They will tax you (or want to) or forever.

Thank you!  I am currently residing in Cocoa/Valencia Village along the Indian River in Brevard County and will be moving to the Tottenham region of London. I have cut ties with Massachusetts and I do know about the tax situation! I am originally from Andover, Massachusetts and have also resided in New Hampshire seacoast region for many years. I wanted to spend time with retired parents before departing and set up residence here in a cute apartment and worked hard here in the hospitality industry to squirrel away money; But that is another story. If I can survive Brevard County, I will be fine in London!!!!!!!! SO excited to be moving on! Thanks again!!  ::)

There are quite a few of us with ties to Brevard. County on this board!  Please enjoy the weather while you are there.  I had no idea how good I had it until I move here!
