La-la-land to Birmingham
« on: October 19, 2010, 10:09:46 PM »
Hi all,

I've just relocated with my partner to Harborne in Birmingham from Perth, Australia where we'd been living for the past two years. Originally from Oregon but right now I'm in a little place called limbo aka waiting for my settlement visa in Providence, RI. Basically I'm homeless... in that upper-middle class kind of way.  :-\\\\

Can't wait to get back over there!

Welcome to UK-Y Ariana, I'm in Coventry so not too far from Birmingham.

If I was stuck in Providence I'd sooooo be eating pumpkin cheesecake over at Cheesecake Factory (assuming the one in Providence Place Mall is still there).

If you're here in time there's a meetup on Nov 21st in Birmingham.

Thanks all!

And what a fantastic idea... I could use a whole cheesecake to myself right about now (don't judge me!)

Will def see you on the 21st for the meetup - can't wait!

I hope your visa turns up soon! I lived in Providence for 20+ years and I can tell you there are far worse places to be stuck! I'd be steering clear of mall food and heading for Federal Hill, though.  ;D

Any of you all want to play softball?

My name's Meg, I have lived in Birmingham 12 years - originally from DeLand, Florida -

I teach. We need new players, especially women - it's a Co-ed team, so men are welcome, too, though we are a bit uneven in our numbers to we are especially recruiting women -

You don't have to be able to play - we'll teach you. We have gloves you can borrow. Every thursday at Hallfield School, Edgbaston, in Birmingham starts at 6:15 and goes til we can't see anymore.....

There are a fair few american expats on our team, and we'd like more -

Come and play ball with us!
