UK Visitor Visa Questions
« on: March 26, 2014, 08:09:52 PM »
Hi guys,

I'm in process of applying for a visitor visa, and instructions posted on UK border agency's website are kind of confusing. I hope I can get answers to some of my questions here. Plus I'm tired of calling up WorldBridge and spending $3 per minute ...   :\\\'(

Is the photo just like a normal 2x2 US passport photo? Something I can get just by walking into a Walgreens?

For the return service, I was told by WorldBridge services I need to provide a envelope or a box along with a "electronic prepaid way bill". Not a prepaid label (self addressed and stamped). What the heck is a electronic prepaid way bill??? I called up UPS and FedEx, and they have no idea what is this thing. They told me they probably meant prepaid label is what I need, but I was told over the phone explicitly they want a electronic prepaid way bill!!! I have no idea where or how to get this thing.

Does the flight have to be booked? Or can I just print out a a planned flight?

Do I have to submit my actual green card? This thing is not cheap, and I don't want lose it.

Much thanks!!

The visa instructions clearly state what size photo you need to submit, see here: https://www.gov.uk/photos-for-passport. Your local Walgreens, or a photographic shop, should be able to change their set up to accommodate these dimensions.

There have been previous questions regarding the prepaid waybill, a search on this website should bring up the answer you're looking for.

Don't book your flight until you get your visa just in case your visa is refused or delayed, but do include a sample itinerary.

I can't answer the question regarding your green card, but suggest you read the guidance and follow it exactly. If it states that you can send a copy then do so, but if the original is required you'll have to include it with any other supporting documents.

Thanks for that information.

I gave them a fedex "airbill", which I guess that was not acceptable since they emailed me asking me to provide them with a "prepaid return shipping label". So I created 2 fedex shipping labels, and sent it off to them. Then I FINALLY found out what they wanted is a "prepaid return shipping label", which is different than a standard prepaid shipping label.

Just for future reference if you are applying in the US. They want a "prepaid return shipping label", and not a prepaid shipping label. There is a difference. They also call this thing a "waybill".
