Home ownership question

I'm posting this question for a friend:

She's a US citizen and she just divorced her UK citizen husband. They were living in the US when they divorced. He has moved back to the UK and she's still in the US. They purchased a house together and they still own it jointly. She still lives in it. Does he have UK tax obligations to claim this house?

The UK does not currently charge tax on the gain on the sale of a main residence.
