These are just bits of what I ran across using a Google search:

Pricing analysts perform detailed historical analysis

A pricing anyalyst is responsible for the accurate and timely pricing and rating of services.

The principal duties are:
*      Develop and implement standardized estimating procedures.
*      Provide cost and pricing support on all services proposals.
*      Conduct price analysis and develop rate models for cost proposals.
*      Assist project managers with project cost analysis and determine project profitability.

More principal duties are:
·Develop and track financial targets for company as they relate to the pricing department.
·Track competitive targets for company.
·Establish best practices for implementation of category management pricing.
·Develop and manage competitive price monitoring across all geographic areas.
·Develop and implement pricing strategies using demand elasticity, category management strategies, competitive response, etc.
·Assist in the management of price image research and analysis.
·Develop and present concepts and recommendations to broad audience including marketing, finance and senior management.

I hope this helps. I remain, too.

Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)
