I'm not new to the UK. I moved here in 2009. Took me until this week to seek out other Americans! Lol. Now I want to make some American friends to do Thanksgiving and Halloween(The right way!) I'm 25, married to a British man(29), with a three year old little boy and a baby on the way. I'm really looking to make some good mom friends, but Im happy with anyone! So, anyone close to me?

I actually have a friend who lives in Christleton. I don't get up there often because it;s like a three hour drive, but thanks for replying!

I'm in the East Midlands, quite a bit farther south then you are, I think.

AND I was dead wrong! Looks like I'm west of you by a bit over an hour, according to Google. I'm in Swadlincote. We've really only headed up to Nottingham so we could put in our Marriage Notice. I really like the city though!
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Forgive my ignorance, but is East Midlands anywhere near Edinburgh?  We're hopefully moving to the area in the next several months and would love to have some "inside people'!!! :D :D

No, it's not. The East Midlands is, as you would expect, in the center of England and on the East coast. Edinburgh is in Scotland. Scotland is north of England.

Unfortunately not - they are 300 miles apart, in different countries :(.

Edinburgh is one of the main cities in Scotland, while the East Midlands is one of the 9 regions of England - it's comprised of 6 counties in the Middle and East of England.

I do love Edinburgh, but no, its not close. We do travel to Scotland most years for vacation though. Yeah Swadlingcote is a good you away. Real shame! Lol. Still could meet up occasionally.

Absolutely! I'm not driving as of yet, so my husband gets to chauffeur me around. We're a bit homebound for awhile, since we have an 8 week old puppy. Would love to chat and get to know you a bit if you'd like?
