From Oklahoma - moved to UK in 2002
« on: September 03, 2014, 12:53:38 PM »
Hi All,

I've been in the UK for a long time now but sure do miss Americans  :-[

I fit in well and even talk with a slight British accent (so I'm told) but I miss biscuits and gravy, Loony Toons reruns and seeing American flags on porches.

Just wanted to say hi and can't wait to talk to some of you!

Any newbs to the UK who need assistance, let me know!

Welcome!

We're always happy to have new folks around! I just moved over to Derbyshire in February. I got my Leave to Remain a few weeks ago, so I'm working on getting a NI number and looking for a job. Any suggestions for a newbie to the UK work force?
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Howdy and welcome!

Another Okie here! I moved here from McAlester in 1997. Where bouts in Oklahoma are you from?

I've been told I speak with a British accent as well. Except for last week when I started watching Reba on you tube and my husband asked me if I had been speaking to my sister and I said no why…and he laughed and said your okie is back in your voice….hahahaha….
