Our flat will hopefully be sold in the next 3-4 weeks.  I'm moving to the US in 1.5 weeks, dh is coming over in 4 months. We hope to be able to buy a house within 2 years in the US. Where should we put the money in the meantime? Interest rates look ridiculous.  My brother suggested a moneymarket account but it's .8% interest!  Point eight percent!!!!

And how exactly do you send it over?  I'm going to open a bank account when I arrive,  do we transfer by xe.com or something like that?

XE.com to move it, then lock it up in the best rate CD you can find? Savings account rates are abysmal!
