I have no idea what a bobbin case is.
Maybe it's called something different here?  Can you explain what it is, and then maybe we can help?

A bobbin case is the thing that holds thread for a sewing machine.  At least that's the bobbin I know.  Any store with sewing supplies should have them but Amazon or eBay will probably be easier.

There are some independent haberdashery shops in London that may have it. There were a few in Islington I've been to, but unfortunately I can't remember their names. John Lewis has a pretty good haberdashery section and sells sewing machines, so it might be worth looking there.

Did you ask the school?  If it's something required for a course they should be able to tell you where to one.

Another vote for the John Lewis haberdashery section. Top floor. Be sure you don't lose control! I've been known to go overboard. Every project suddenly seems like a good idea there. ;)

If you search for London haberdash, you should find plenty of options. Klein's is good, too, but they moved recently (still in SoHo) and are a but hard to find. The Cloth House may have what you're looking for. Liberty also has a good selection of crafty stuff but you might pay a bit more.
