Any Puerto Rican's in the UK?
« on: August 04, 2014, 03:15:47 PM »
Hello,

My wife has just moved over to the UK and is of Puerto Rican ancestry, although she's actually lived most of her life in Chicago. She's also keen not to lose sight of her language and culture. Are there any Puerto Rican members on this forum or any UK Boricua groups in London or the South East? I'd love to know where in the UK I can buy plantain!

Thanks in advance.

Eaglestar.

Wepa!!!

I'm currently waiting on my UK Settlement Visa on the basis of marriage (my hubby is British). If it's approved, I'll be moving to London y yo soy Boricua! It's so funny to see this because I was searching the internet with this question too. I sent my husband back with loads of Adobo and Sazon since I don't think it's readily available in the UK.

Are you based in London? I read somewhere that there are less than a few thousand Puerto Ricans in all of the United Kingdom so unfortunately it sounds like it will be hard to find others.

Hope she's adjusting well :) Would love to hear about her experiences and what I'm in for!
