Hello!

Hello fellow UK Yanks.  I made the move from Vermont, family in tow, last August.

So far I am finding life here in the UK pleasantly suffocating!  Anyone else having a hard time?

Hello!

I was definitely having a hard time for the first year or so, I moved over last February. Now that I'm on track with a new job (I start Monday), making friends and exploring more and more. Everything seems to be falling into place. Of course I miss my friends and family back in the states and I can't wait for my visit, but I feel like I'm building a life here and I'm getting more settled. I can't wait to see what's in store for me.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I can relate. I didn't work when I first moved here, and I felt so cut off. I had a baby soon after arriving, and that connected me with some other Mums, but it wasn't until I went to work that I felt I was really part of the community.

Work ties just made that difference for me, I guess.

I will say I think it gets easier.
