I agree about side by sides, I've never met one I liked. They just don't have the useable space their size should allow.
So far I've only done internet searches and, IMO, there is no way to really tell anything about a fridge until you stick your head in it. I also don't have anything to compare prices with since the proposal just shows a total price for the kitchen and not a break down by appliances and other components. Lots of questions to be asked before I go sticking my head into UK fridge/freezers.
