I would just caution to be aware of lower starting salaries over here compared to the US if you are doing some budgeting. Also, it took me 9 months to secure a job and my partner 8 last year after we arrived, and that was after applying for several hundred jobs (him) and almost a hundred (me). Many times we got to final rounds only for the job to change, the job to be pulled, or to just be runner up. It was a real grind, but we are in London and he is more at the start of his career and I was facing intense competition in my field (and I am at a pretty high salary band to boot). So essentially I think it may come down to how interchangable is your work experience and your fit with the company. Name brand (uni/prior employer) also seemed pretty big down here, but I think that was more a way to weed people out.
