Well, it's out of our hands now. Sent our paper FLR(M) Application off to Durham this afternoon. We've not paid for priority since my Tier 4 visa is good until the end of January, but it would be nice to hear from anyone else who has applied from within the UK recently to see what sort of wait times you've had.

I am hoping that the only potential hiccup will be that my husband accidentally turned off paper statements from Barclay's and when he requested them the branch just sent photocopies instead of putting a proper order through, so we went to our local branch yesterday and they stamped and certified new copies and we included those with a note. Everything else seems pretty straight forward.

We also just got our wedding pictures back last night, so we've had loads of fun reliving our awesome day and just enjoying the fact that we get to be together!

Hi Tania,

I know this isn't exactly current, but I mailed in my application for FLR(M) from Swadlincote, Derbyshire last July 19th, and with one hiccup where they said I was 108 years old, I got my BRP Card on August 28th. The mistake took a week to fix.

Make sure you look over the paperwork they send back to you for your biometrics. They're only human and they can't do your biometrics if the paperwork they send you doesn't match your passport exactly.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Yes, this happened with my last BRP, they spelled Oregon wrong so it took an extra week to get it corrected.

At last it seems like the in-country applications are considerably faster than other types, so fingers crossed.

I like hearing about the speed for these. :) I'm planning on doing the switch from tier 4 to FLR(M) come November and right now we were planning on doing in person. But if the turnaround is this good I might reconsider. Still, I wouldn't want  it to get caught up in the holidays. Keep us updated!

This information is a few months old now, but I mailed in my FLR-M application on March 23rd this year and had my BRP card in hand on May 13th (lol - I could have just directed you to my signature  ;) ).  They requested one supposedly missing part of the application (my husband's picture, which was definitely included to begin with but we sent another one anyway - of course  ::) ), which put things back a week or so.

As always with these things, it felt like a lifetime of anxious, fingernail chewing waiting,  but it was less than 2 months start to finish.  The request to get my biometrics done was about 3 and a half weeks after the application was mailed.  The best part about the whole thing was the women who took my biomentrics in Durham - she was great!  I'll never forget the way she made me laugh and then cracked, "get serious now, this isn't supposed to be fun".  Yup, I liked her a lot..... but my picture, not so much.  :P
Here 2 years as of Oct. 1, 2016.

That is really fabulous news! Our application was signed for on 9 July, so it's only been 6 days, but I'm really hoping the process is that fast for us!
