IHS reference number on submitted tier 4 application

I recently submitted a Tier 4 general visa application online and I have paid my IHS. It then stated that my IHS reference number would be placed automatically on my application. When I submitted payment for the health surcharge, the reference number showed up on my application online.  Once I printed my application, the IHS reference number was nowhere to be found on the printed application. However I received an email which I printed stating that I paid the health surcharge and it also showed my IHS reference number. Is this sufficient when turning my application into the New York City Visa Office? since its just a print out of an email it seems informal but it clearly shows my name and date of birth and IHS reference number.

I would hand write it onto the printed application and include a copy of your confirmation.

No, you can correct any mistakes or add missing information by hand to the printed online application form if you need to.

The online application does not go anywhere when you submit it, it just creates a copy that you can print out.

The only copy that UKVI in New York will see is the printed one that you submit - so if there are any corrections required, you can add them in pen to the printed form.
