TSP taxed where?
« on: August 10, 2015, 09:54:48 PM »
My Govt pension is not taxed in the UK. What about the Govt TSP program? We were just sitting down today trying to decide which way to withdraw the TSP money (still a few years away) and will likely take it in monthly payments since we keep access to the money that way......and continue to have access to the G fund which I have been using as my bond substitute.

The TSP plan would count a pension fund under the treaty, I think it might be a 401a to the IRS. Therefore, if you are a UK resident, but not a UK citizen it is not taxed in the UK.

nun- thanks again. Putting most of this stuff on hold for a couple of weeks while I put in some time memorising the Highway Code. Also just figured out tonight that the info that I had typed up for my wife if I get run over tomorrow (tax info, where/how to get at our US based funds) must have been on my laptop that died in March. Thought I had a copy stashed somewhere......damn, I know better...unless it's on a thumb drive somewhere.
