My boyfriend is Aussie and I'm American and we are Looking to find a share house in the London area.  We have come across a few resources from Aussies to help other aussies out but I'm wondering if there is anything similar amongst Americans. Surely there are tons of us! Help an American find some other American flatmates .

Have you tried spareroom.co.uk ?  Sometimes the posters will state their nationality.  But I'd personally be more open to who you choose to live with -- London is such a multicultural city -- I wouldn't exclude Greeks/Italians/Spaniards/British/Polish/Germans just because they're not American or Australian.  You might find out they're even more cool to hang out with than you expected!  Welcome to the UK!
