kids and passports
« on: November 10, 2004, 05:02:22 PM »
My kids will be 9 and 1 when we travel back to the UK next year. Am I the only one who has trouble understanding the idea of a passport for a 1 year old? By the time he gets the passport he will look different than the photo! We plan on getting the passports in the spring, so it won't be that far before we travel. But what about if we travel again when he is 3, he won't look at all like the picture. In this case would I need other id for him? Do kids need the same two pieces of id to fly?

Yup, it's pretty funny carrying a passport with a baby picture when you're traveling with a five year old.  But passport control is pretty used to it.   :)

We travel back and forth a lot.  DD first passport was when she was 2months old.  I never had any problems.  The problems start when you move here and have to renew.  It is a hassle.

I have a coworker who is a dual citizen US/EU. She had to get a passport for her newborn. She thought it was pretty silly, too.
