Sorry I have a few general questions on tax. I have spent a long time reading this and other forums on the matter and feel really overwhelmed.
I have lived abroad since I was 18 (2008). For most of that time I never earned above the threshold to have to file taxes. I just realized that during my internship in 2014 I went above it. My total income for that year will have been around $13-15k.
Now that I have a "real" job I have been looking into taxes and realized that I should have filed in 2014.
What exactly is the process for filing back taxes? Do I just search for the relevant forms for 2014 and submit them? Or is there something special you have to do/send in?
Also is there some sort of general guide for DIY tax filing that explains all of the forms that could be relevant? My taxes should be really straight forward, because I don't have any assets and earn a very modest income. However, I'm really intimidated by all of the different forms that exist.
