Ok, more dumb tax questions.

I live in the UK permanently and don't have any income from the US, so I understand that I need to fill out the 2555 form. I'm confused about what to do about having more than one employer during the year, though. The last time I did taxes I filled one out for each employer, but in reading various blog posts etc. on the subject it seems that this was not correct, and I should instead write an explanatory letter giving the names of both employers. Do I then have to fill out another form to tell the IRS that I'm sending them a letter?

I also have a small amount of freelance income. I have registered as a business in the UK. Do I simply report the amount I earned as another 2555 item, or is there something special I need to do?

If I'm claiming the foreign earned income exclusion, is there also a form reporting how much tax I paid in the UK that I need to fill out?

Finally, is there any way I can e-file all this stuff, or does the need for an extra statement etc. mean I have to send everything in on paper?

All these different forms are really confusing me. I didn't earn enough to justify trying to get an accountant, though.

Just add up all your foreign earned income and use the FEIE if it's less than $100k. You could also use foreign tax credits and that might get you a "better" result.

On the freelance income you will need to file a Schedule C, but make sure you don't pay US self employment tax...to avoid that you'll need a National Insurance certificate of coverage.
