in the long frustrating process of trying to get my fiancee from Florida to sunny derbyshire
one visa refused 6 weeks ago,being self employed and semi retired we have struggled to meet the financial requirements, even though we have three pensions between us,more the proof they demand.
i have one question if anyone knows i am in receipt of industrial injuries benefit,due to industrial decease does this automatically exempt us from the financial requirements,i am still working in a different occupation.

So sorry to hear about your refusal, self employment is a very difficult category.

To be exempt from the financial requirements you have to be in receipt of one of the following.

Carer’s Allowance.

Disability Living Allowance

Severe Disablement Allowance.

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.

Attendance Allowance.

Personal Independence Payment.

Armed Forces Independence Payment or Guaranteed Income Payment under the   
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.

Constant Attendance Allowance, Mobility Supplement or War Disablement Pension
under the War Pensions Scheme.

I suggest you post a little more about your situation, including the wording of the refusal letter (with identifying details omitted) in the visa section of the forum.
