WEP

I know in Canada, the US-Canada social security totalization agreement can override certain aspects of the windfall elimination provision. What about in the UK? Will UK government pensions or employer pensions cause us to receive lower amount of SS?

I am expecting my SS to be reduced by WEP due to me having UK private pensions from earnings in the UK prior to my move to the USA.
Dual USC/UKC living in the UK since May 2016

Any pensions you have that were paid for with earnings not subject to FICA tax will cause a WEP reduction to your US SS unless you have at least 30 years of FICA contributions.

Thank you. We each have 10-12 years i believe. But we have been out of the US 13 years and now headed to the UK. We probably won't be due much SS. Doesn't seem like a good reason to forego an employer sponsored pension.
