Hello everyone. I moved to the UK about four years ago on a fiancé visa. I entered into a civil partnership and changed my visa to a spouse visa that was valid for two years. When this expired, I applied for indefinite leave to remain, which is what I am living in the UK with now.

My partner asked for a divorce/dissolution a while back. I was planning to return home but I have met someone else, and plan on staying in the UK as a result. My question is, if my civil partnership is dissolved, will I still be allowed to remain in the UK?

Yes, you can stay in the UK.  You have indefinite leave to REMAIN.  As long as you don't move out of the UK for more than 2 years, you can stay for as long as you like.   :D

You've got ILR so you're free to stay regardless of your previous/current civil partnership.

Don't forget that you might be eligible for UK citizenship now. ;) Getting UK citizenship might leave a lot less uncertainty and you would never have to worry about your status again.

With ILR, if you're out of the UK for more than 2 years, you'd have to start from scratch if you ever wanted to move back to the UK.
