Extending British Husband's VISA for US Entry
« on: November 10, 2004, 12:25:27 PM »

Hi All,

I thought I would post this just in case its helpful to anyone now or in the future. I contacted the Embassy to see if my husband's visa which expires 6 months from date of issue can be extended. Here is the answer I received back from them:

"The visa may be extended for a further 6 months, but you will be required to pay a new fee.
If you do not enter the U.S. in this time you will need to start the application process again and complete a new packet 3. Packet 3 consists of DS-230-1 and document checklist DS-2001 for an
immediate relative application".
