Hi all,

I just wanted to share my recent experience, I remember there being some discussion about this a while back. Hopefully this is the right forum....

When I switched from my US to my new UK license on our 2 car insurance policies, they charged me nearly £300. According to their system I no longer had 8 years of driving experience, but 0.

As absolutely nothing changed that would effect the risk of insuring me, I didn't agree to raising the premium. After going through customer services, customer services management, and lodging a formal complaint, they came back to me and said they would refund the £300.

So if you find yourself in this situation it could be worth it to fight the charges! Also, if the complaint comes back negative, you have the right to refer the complaint to the financial services ombudsman.

Hope this helps someone...
