I beleive and someone correct me if i'm wrong
her status can not be changed...
no , she cannot work without a work visa
and yes you can marry here but she will still have to go home to india to change her status
You are not a legal resident or citizen...  you can not sponsor her yourself... you are here on a work visa... your being here is on a temporary basis, a non immigration basis...

What's it gonna be Merv?
Interesting deal
She'll do it. If she has to kill everyone in this room. She'll do it. She's in love.

I'm pretty sure your girlfriend will have to go back to India to adjust her status.  If someone from the US got married in the UK on a visitor's visa, they'd have to go back to the US to adjust status (unless they were here on a student visa or work visa worth 6 months or more, which wouldn't apply to your girlfriend).

It sounds like your girlfriend will need another sponsor if she's to come to the UK permanently.  If you don't have ILR (indefinite leave to remain) in the UK, you cannot sponsor her.

Couldn't he bring her over on a work permit dependent's visa after they're married? I don't know all the specifics about that method, I would check the www.ukvisas.gov.uk for more information.

No.  India is a visa national country in the first instance.

Naive?  or troll?
