Starting a UK charity
« on: July 12, 2016, 07:15:20 AM »
Hi, everyone,
A post here from a 'lurker' on the forums. I got my UK citizenship last year and so now, happily, am a dual national. :-)

I'm planning to start up a small charity here in the UK and wonder if there's anything I need to think about in terms of the IRS, or anything else on the US side of things?

It will be run on a non-profit basis and will not have shares or shareholders. There will be directors (4 to start with), and we may decide to have members (people who support our work and want to sign up for a regular newsletter, etc).

With thanks in advance,

LinLin

FBAR would be relevant.
