boy isn't that visa pretty... back at last
« on: November 18, 2004, 06:34:17 PM »
my visa journey is now at an end... and I want to thank everyone who gave me advise,and/or boosted my moral during that trying time... so now i guess it's my turn to tell you how things went...
Now you may or may not know that Jimmy and I headed over to nyc for my interview and our honey moon at the end of sept. It was Jimmy's first flight ever and he loved it... we checked into our box of a hotel room on sept. 28th... my interview was scheduled for the 30th at 9 am.
we did a dry run the day before so we wouldnt get lost which is a good thing cause we did... anyway... we showed up on time... and when my turn came I handed my stuff to the clerk and she went off with it to copy what she needed to keep... about 5 minutes later she came back and slid my application packet back to us and said "I'm sorry... but we can't process your application now... you need more documentation... when you have it make another appt and we will process it then... im sure i don't have to tell you we were devastated...  Jimmy and I had spent just about our last dime to come over for our honeymoon in fact we had borrowed from the bank so we could do it and there just were no more funds and all i could think was omg i'm never gonna see him again... he's gonna go home and i'm never gonna see him again... but i was gladly i was wrong... after we got back to our hotel room and got past the initial shock it was decided that we go to orlando to see my kids as planned and then Jimmy would return to Scotland with me to follow when i could get my visa sorted... so we went to orlando and then jimmy went home on the 5th as originally planned but with me left behind... day after he left i headed for miami to get documents i needed then returned to orlando towait for document Jimmy needed to send me ... I needed a copy of court records for a misdemeanor conviction 22 years old that i had been unable to locate via the phone and internet and I was so afraid I wasn't gonna find it... but i did and you know what was the worst thing about it... i had never been convicted of the crime... i had been found guilty but the records said adjudication with held which means i wasn't convicted of the crime which meant that I didnt even need to put it on my application in the first place... go figure... so i got my records and went to stay with my eldest and wait for jimmy's package.. which like a big goomba he had sent via mail and NOT fed x like it told him... it took 2 weeks to get to me and everyday i worried that it was not gonna get there and my time to apply for my visa would take even longer... I spent that time working on my visa application and making it really nice and easy to read and reference and i wrote notes to clarify any question i thought needed it... in hopes that they would not ask me to come to nyc cause i did not know where I was gonna find the money for that... finally jimmy's stuff got there and i fed exed my application less than a week later knock on the door and its fed ex and i was like WOOOOOOHOOOO fed ex!!!!!! i tore open my package and grabbed my passport and there it was pasted inside... it was just about the prettiest thing i'd ever seen... 6 weeks from unhappiness to bliss and I'm back with my Jimmy right where I belong... thanks guys... you helped me alot thru it all... I'll never forget you all... the fates smiled on me the day I found this site... I hope they continue to smile on me and on you.... hugs all around... Jo
It's the difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Lipstick? Where woman? There is no lipstick!
She wasn't kissing your lips my darling

What's it gonna be Merv?
Interesting deal
She'll do it. If she has to kill everyone in this room. She'll do it. She's in love.
*sigh*
It's amazing how the path of love is so alike to the path of insanity

2gether 4ever Jo & Jimmy
