VSF posatge and sending parcel URGENT

 I need help with the postage label. I'm putting both my sons applications in same package. Ive just spoke to the £1.37 a min UK Visa helpline  and they were useless. They were not sure if my husband could fly back with the biometric receipt and passports and put them in when he gets back to the UK. They said he may have to send them separate from the States then they will match them up with my supporting documents? Seems silly to me.
I am going to pay priority twice for both applications but do I need to pay for 2 x VSF return labels too? seems daft when they will be only using one. I feel a little annoyed I have to pay $228 to send a package back to Vermont.

You have 5 days from the date of biometrics for the package to be sent to Sheffield.  If your husband is returning ASAP after the kids have their biometrics, then that's fine to send them from the UK.  DO NOT SEND THE DOCUMENTATION SEPERATELY.  If it will be more than 5 days after biometrics that your husband returns, you should OVERNIGHT the documents that are in the UK to your husband in the US using FedEx, DHL, or UPS (not Royal Mail or Parcel Force).

You only need one shipping label.

Just to add, there is a tiny bit of risk mailing from within the UK.  We had a member have everything returned to her as they were confused about the package arriving from the UK.  But that was a one-off.

Also, NEVER TRUST THE HOTLINE.  You definitely cannot send the information separately.  UKVI is a government agency.  Sending everything separately is likely to result in chaos and nothing being matched up.  It would slow your process down tremendously.  I've not heard of anyone successfully sending items separately.

The hotline said that I should mail separate. I agree with you. Should I explain with a cover note why we sent it from the UK?

The hotline also told me that I couldn't apply for my visa extension from inside the UK.  In other words, they have NO CLUE what they are talking about.  (I could apply for my visa extension from inside the UK).

You could mention it in your cover letter but I really don't think you'll have any problems.  I think we just had an unlucky member who's application was opened by someone new.
