Courier Acceptance Times in Sheffield
« on: November 10, 2016, 10:52:33 AM »
Hi all,

My application I sent to my partner (to add originals and better bank statements) is finally getting there today after paying for 2 day shipping on Friday. I am furious with FedEX!

My partner's mother will sort it all today and send it from the local Post Office with Royal Mail. There is an option for next day before 9am. I am worried about someone being there to receive it if it's much earlier than 9.

Is there always someone there to receive post? Since it must be signed for I'm worried it could be too early and be sent back to a depot. I have had the worst luck, so that's definitely something that would happen to me! Thanks.

I wouldn't send it guaranteed by 9am.  Just send overnight with signature, and you'll be fine for it to arrive tomorrow anytime.

Thank you. Just really anxious to get it in. My son and I have never been away from my partner, and it's been 9 days now. :(

I mailed my husband's FLR application from within the UK.

I used Special Delivery because it is supposed to be the safest method.
I just checked my records and it was signed for at 7.24am so you will be fine with that method.  :)
It is tracked all the way too, as opposed to recorded delivery (signed for) which just indicates when the item has arrived.

After the Fedex debacle, you don't want anything else to go wrong!

No words to describe my fury!!!!!!!! I think my sponsor's mother should have just driven it to Sheffield. She paid for Special Delivery by 1pm and specifically sai it MUST be signed for, and this is what the tracking says:

Via: Special Delivery Guaranteedâ„¢
Status: Delivered
Your item with reference Xxxx has reached its PO Box and is awaiting collection/delivery.

PO Box?!?!??!?? The address isn't a PO Box!!!!

No, it's not a PO Box.  Did she use the correct address?

It's very common for the delivery to say "delivered dock."

Yes. It was hand written on a piece of paper that I wrote and she copied from.

She is calling Royal Mail now. I seriously do not think anything else could go wrong with my application...

It finally got there at 8:49. Apparently they all go to a secure PO Box and someone collects from there and signs once for all packages since so many arrive every day. Since they don't sign for each individual package, it delays the tracking updates.

This has taken years off of my life...
