True or False: Pay for courier x 3 with only one package?
« on: November 13, 2016, 08:17:05 PM »
The VFS Global page, under Courier Services, states: "Unfortunately, Settlement applicants (whose documents must be sent to Sheffield UK) cannot apply as a part of a group and each individual applicant must purchase his own shipping label."

For my wife and and two kids, I will of course have each of their visa apps, and each of their Appendix 2 apps. I will also have all required supporting evidence. But I plan to send all of that in one package to Sheffield...is it really true that I'll have to buy the courier service three times, even though I'm only sending one package?!?!

I can understand why I would pay the priority processing fee three times, one for each app. But if all the materials are in one box why on earth would I need to pay for the shipping three times?

Just ship directly from UPS and set up an account with UPS to bill you for the return shipping.

I'm pleased to hear it's that simple. It felt like such a dumb question to ask, because isn't it just about getting your docs there and back? It seemed obvious that it was (and so I could do it myself) but their requirement to pay for it three times was so odd that I wondered if I was missing something important!

Until a few months ago, you just paid one VFS shipping cost for up to 4 applications sent together... However, VFS have changed their rules and now they expect separate shipping labels (and I think separate packages too). I can only assume it's about making money (same as they'll tell you that you have to use VFS Global shipping).

If you just sort out your own shipping though, you can just pay once and send everything together.

It still is that way for the apps that go to New York, but not the stuff going to Sheffield. Definitely a money grab. Shameful

Yeah, I think they actually switched it.

I seem to remember that the New York applications used to be 1 shipping label/package per application and the Sheffield ones were up to 4 applications per shipping label... Now it's the other way around.
