I'm moving to London from the US very soon, and I would like to find a US/UK aware financial planner for a one-time consultation.
I'm comfortable doing my own investing in the US (Vanguard mutual funds), but I would like some advice on the UK-specific tax implications of this move. I need more than just tax advice, such as, is it worth it to sell all my mutual funds to "reset" capital gains to zero before I leave?
Most planners seem to want to be "asset managers" and take an on-going percentage. I would like to pay a one-time fee (even if it's large) for someone to look over my current investments and give advice. Can anyone recommend somebody?
