Hi guys, as brief a s possible, I am an U.S Citizen In Dominican Republic.
I came here to get married to a young lady id met while vacationing in Manhattan years ago, the money is gone and sonisnthe "love" ive overstayed my tourists visa by months.
I was unaware the u.s embassies would help citizens abroad if they arent able to make it home.
I was given the embassys number/email by a local.
I reached out to the u.s embassy, the representative asked for 3 numbers i actually gave her 4, which id previously contacted, she called me back a while later stating a friend of mine, which i was on the phone with when she called, stated he would help me which was NOT TRUE.
She stated there was nothing else she could do and quickly hung up the phone.
The next day i contacted DOS, and was referred back to the Embassy.
Discouraged and starting to feel panic, i will visit the embassy tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, any information would be helpful on how to apply for a loan to return home.
