Notifying UK government with a change of address
« on: January 22, 2017, 09:02:25 PM »
Hi all,

My husband and I just bought a new flat (yay!), and will be moving soon. I was wondering how I go about reporting my change of address? Some background: I have a BRP and am in the UK on a spouse visa.

I saw that there is either a form to fill out (here:https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/300948/CoC__Migrant__04-14.pdf) or an online visa address update system (here: https://visa-address-update.service.gov.uk/ [nofollow] ).

Which one do I use, if any?

Thanks in advance for the help!

This is the form.  There isn't a choice for a spouse visa, so you may just want to write that in.  They don't send anything back, but just trust that you sent it and have done your part.   :)

So happy that I managed to get my FLR visa in our new house as I literally had no idea I needed to do this so this would have given me anxiety and a half! Definitely something that's good to know for others. Not sure if I got lucky or what, but I had no idea that I needed to report an address change!
My, how time flies....

* Married in the US and applied for first spousal visa August 2013
* Moved to the UK on said visa October 2013
* FLR(M) applied for  May 2016. Biometrics requested June 2016. Approval given July 2016.
* ILR applied for January 2019 (using priority processing). Approved February 2019.
* Citizenship applied for May  2019
* Citizenship approved on July 4th 2019
* Ceremony conducted on August 28th 2019
