Marriage cert question

This is a bit of a different situation
I am an American my husband is British
We have been married 30 years and are planning to move back to Britain but here's the situation

My father died when I was very young
My mother went on a trip met a Canadian man and married him and moved us to Canada
My stepfather did not adopt me nor did I give up my American citizenship but my mother just started using his last name for me and I quess back in the seventies nobody cared
Move ahead years - met my husband and married and a few years later we moved back to the us
So here's the question - on our marriage certificate it has this random last name that is not on any other legal  document I have
Will this cause a problem with validating our marriage?
Will a letter explaining the situation be enough?
In a bit of a panic over this - any thoughts??

Do you have an old passports with the name on? Any letters of any sort?

Usually all you submit is your passport (I'm assuming this is in your married name) and your marriage certificate.

UKVI will have no idea what your maiden name was, as you've been married 30 years.  If your last name now matches your husband's, no one will even blink an eye.
