Hie i have checked and it says i have to pay which is ok..
Where does it say you have to pay?
From what I'm reading, it says you DO NOT have to pay. From the page I linked to:
When you’ll need an IHS reference number
You still need to use the payment service to get an immigration health surcharge (IHS) reference number but you won’t need to pay if:
- you’re applying for a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa (or you’re their dependant)
- you’re a child under 18 who has been taken into care by a local authority
- you’re the dependant of a member of the UK’s armed forces
- you’re the dependant of a member of another country’s forces who is exempt from immigration control
- you’re a relevant civilian employee employed by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) or the Australian Department of Defence in the UK (or you’re their dependant)
And when I do the questionnaire as if I'm the spouse of someone in the HM Forces, it tells me I DON'T have to pay:
Going through the questions:
- Applying alone
- Currently in the UK
- NOT applying in the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey
- NOT under 18
- Nationality: US citizen (as an example)
- Visa route: Further Leave to Remain (FLR)
- Visa type: Armed Forces FLR(AF)
And I get:
Calculate your immigration health surcharge
Based on the information provided we have calculated that your total Immigration Health Surcharge is
£0.00
Exempt based on Visa Route

You need 6 documents in EACH name, from at least 3 official sources, spread evenly over the last 2 years (or for as long as you've lived together if less than 2 years).
You can use either 6 jointly-addressed documents, 12 individually addressed documents (6 each) or a combination of both.
You can use the following types of documents:
• Letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM
Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing.
• Letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about
medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters
• Bank statements/letters
• Building society savings books/letters
