Hey everyone!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to find a gp? I have perscriptions that I will need to have refilled like 3 weeks after moving(I was lucky to be able to get 6 months of stuff before leaving Ireland and having no health care in USA!). I've read it can take a bit to get an appointment. Think they would let me call and make one ahead of time before I move on the 27th?

Hmm. Good question. They might let you. It can't hurt to ask!

You'll have to fill out new patient paperwork and they will need a piece of post with your name on it. My GP let me bring that in later since I was new to country.

I just went with who was close to my house. Many require you to be in their cachement area to register. Others may have suggestions on deciding who to go with.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

is there a specific way to look up gp by address? We used my husband's parents for the visa, but have since signed a lease for an apartment not too far from the house but different postal code so wondering if that would affect who I pick.

sorry, moving to Ireland was so easy as a student cause you just used the school doctors! this is like my first real adult move!
