ILR NHS Fee
« on: February 02, 2018, 05:43:25 PM »
Hi I feel stupid asking this but I’ve spent ages googling searching etc and can’t find the answer!

When applying for ILR does my partner pay the NHS fee again?

Thanks

They don't.

There is no IHS fee for ILR, because ILR is permanent residence and gives you access to public funds and UK benefits.

From the IHS payment website:

Quote
2. Who needs to pay

For immigration applications made from within the UK, you need to pay if:

- you’re a national of a country outside the EEA
- you’re making an immigration application for any length of time, including applications for 6 months or less (but you’re not applying to remain in the UK permanently)
and

Who doesn’t need to pay or get an IHS reference number
You’ll be able to use the NHS without paying the surcharge or getting a reference number if:

- you’re applying for indefinite leave to enter or remain

Your partner is applying for indefinite leave to remain in the UK, so they do not need to pay.
