Storage in flats with few closets

Such a good idea.  Two of my bags are really colorful and fun too so it would be okay for them to be up there.  Might brighten up the room.

So after all that, we found a flat with an enormous closet.  I hadn't even dared to hope for that but we got lucky!

haha NICE! Well it was smart of you prepared because you never know what the future will hold! You might eventually move to a place with no closets and you will already have a solution sorted for that day! Better to plan for the worst and receive the best!

I noticed that the Ikea UK website has a pretty reasonably priced memory foam mattress.  I bet that would be pretty good, if a foam mattress goes best with that type of bed.

Of course now our current landlord has said we may be able to keep some of the furniture, as he is selling and doesn't have room for it in his family home.  If the bed can come apart maybe we'll take that and problem solved.

We've got their memory foam mattress and love the thing however it is really quite firm. On the plus side I cannot tell one bit when Other Half gets into bed, rolls around, or starts flailing about in his sleep so that is a great bonus.

We did get a softer mattress pad from Argos and threw it on top which is a nice added bonus.

That's good to know!  I wouldn't want it to be squishy.  I think we are going to get a mattress pad from Wilko because they have anti-allergy ones. 

Sooooo jealous of your giant closet, I would kill for one.

We bought a giant wardrobe and our suitcases live on top of that.  I also store stuff under the bed.  The floor of the loft is not very stable so it only houses all the cardboard boxes for things we actually value and may want to re-box someday.  We also bought a lovely daybed from IKEA which has three amazing drawers in the bottom.  I am in love with it!  Fortunately we have a front closet or I honestly wouldn't know where our coats would live.

We are so lucky in our current flat, we have a deep bathroom closet with built in shelves.  Our suitcases, old car seat, etc are stored there plus bathroom stuff.

We also have a nice hall closet and a smaller bedroom one.  I hate to see what our next place will have after this luxury

Yes, on top of wardrobes, under beds (if you can, our bed is practically on the floor!), inside anything! We have a wardrobe about a foot from a corner, and have suitcases stacked up next to it, mostly hidden and out of the way. Also, we got a great couch at Ikea (the best store ever) with storage, and it fits so much in the way of extra linens and pillows, it's great!

That being said, our new rental house has closets in every bedroom, a "Harry Potter" room under the stairs and a...wait for it...double garage! I am never ever moving!

Never ever moving is how I feel about our soon-to-be closet!  I would love to not move again unless necessary (like, if when we have a kid) or buying a place.  I don't like moving around a lot, I like to have a home base.
