Greetings everyone, completely new here so I'm not sure if this question has been covered by a previous post - if so please feel free to just point me to it, just having an all too common panic attack after submitting our application.
Just as a background, my wife and I recently married and submitted our spousal visa application, expedited and confirmed to arrive at Sheffield May 8th, to allow her to live with me in Scotland.
For financial requirements, went down the "Part 3A" route in Appendix 2 to prove we met the requirement from my Income from Salaried Employment.
I have been employed since September of 2015, earn £24,500 per annum (before tax), and own my property via a mortgage. We decided to go above and beyond and submitted every payslip I've ever received from my position, as well as bank statements dating back to September 2015 showing these payments going in and my monthly mortgage going out.
As our decision to get married and start a life together came quite suddenly, and my bank account was still recovering from booking several flights to visit my partner in New York earlier in the year, I had insufficient funds to pay for the full application (I was fronting the full cost plus expediting), and had to sell my motorcycle to fund this fully and have enough left over for the month - this netted me £2400 that I deposited in my bank account shortly before paying for the application.
Unfortunately, we did not include any statement on where this money came from - it simply shows up as a deposit in my account. Would this be seen as a serious fault in our application, considering my savings from my annual salary did not give me enough to pay for the application alone?
My worst-case scenario fear in this situation is refusal of the application on the grounds of me not providing any evidence of where this "unexplained deposit" came from. This thought is as painful as it is frustrating as we dotted every "i" and crossed every "t" elsewhere; this is the one slip-up we made, and we understand it's not possible to submit more documents to prove the amount.
Apologies for the long post, any insight anybody can provide would mean the world to me, this has been eating away at me since I realised the error.
