FLR(M) declaration document & other question
« on: June 13, 2017, 09:48:07 PM »

Hello again!
I am in the UK on a marriage (fiancé) visa. My husband and I just got married and now we get to do this visa process all over again. Im nearly done but have a few questions before Im able to complete it. Thank you for all your help!

Do I need to provide a signed declaration document for each piece of evidence (about 6) I provide or just one?

Our council tax document is in both of our names so I am using it as evidence for our items of correspondence addressed to both of us. When asked to provide evidence of council tax costs for the accommodation in the UK where you live or will live, may I use the same document?

I am considering paying the extra money for an appointment to have my application expedited but Im not sure if it is worth it. Does anybody have advice on what the best course of action is on this?

Congratulations!

Are you looking at the paper form or the online one? Are you exempt from the financial requirements? If not, you aren't required to note how much you are paying in council tax (unless that's a new question on the online form?)
You just sign the relevant declarations once.

We applied by post for FLR and were fine with that as we were not going to be traveling so it wasn't worth the extra money to us.
If you can't stand the thought of waiting again, it may be worth it for you to apply in person.  :)

Thank you for responding to this. I am applying online and after taking a closer look at the council tax documentation for proof of residency it says it is optional so Im in the clear there. Thanks for the help :)

Thanks for clarifying.  :)
We can't see the online form so it's difficult to help you with it.
We're suggesting that people use the paper form so that we can help with any questions and if you decide to apply in person, you'll need to use the paper form in any case.
You should use you council tax statement as one of you pieces of correspondence.

Will I be able to print out the online form and use it for the in person appointment?

I believe you have to use the paper form for the in person appointment. I read that here.

If you want to use the online form you still have to print it then mail it in with the rest of your evidence.

When you get to the end of the online form it will let you book an in person appointment which leads me to believe it can be used for a premium appointment.

You only need one declaration page signed. Not one for each piece of mail.

And if you plan on looking for a job anytime soon it is worth paying the extra money for a same day appointment.

I had my decision in just an hour and a half.

I didn’t end up using the online form because the questions about my step son ended up sounding like he was my child so I just went with the LONG form. Lol

I would apply in person if you have travel plans or think you'll get a job straight away.

Applying by post takes about 8 weeks (though on a few occasions this does stretch longer for no rhyme or reason).

Only you can decide which is the better choice for you.  £590 is a lot of money!
