This made me laugh (tv license)
« on: June 24, 2017, 09:09:23 AM »
I purchased a tv license and opted to have them mail me a paper license, rather than have the license emailed, giving me my first actual mail, in my name, to my address.  I received it yesterday.

So this is the kind of thing I've never seen in the U.S.

There was a letter with it explaining that license records are kept online and that there was no need to have a paper license.  It encouraged me to go paperless next year.  On the back of the letter was instructions on how to fold my tv license (with pictures) into an origami swan, since I didn't need a paper tv license.

I laughed.

That... Is awesome!

Only in Britain. Haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I need to remember to get a paper one next year.  Mine is always due at the end of December.  I'm normally out of town or otherwise just busy and forget to renew.  Between the threats from TVL and the December bills coming due I need a good laugh then.  Must remember this.
