I can think of 3 excellent reasons to start with:

Free Trade Inn
Crown Posada
Bodega
and the alcohol-free option, Ouseburn Farm
Just looked those up on Google, I've been to two already! Ha!

All right then, looks like you have your priorities sorted.  Good luck with the move, sounds like you will have a blast.

I've been a radiographer for over 20 years, so tier 2 visa after I get registered with H&CPC. Britain is short on radiographers, so work will be easy to find. I love Newcastle United, I love the Toon and the Geordies.
I've been in & around San Francisco my whole life, and in the last few years it has changed too much. With the tech boom, the city is full of young, well-off self entitled jerks, and homeless families. Artists have all been priced out, and my friends are either moving further and further away, leaving the state entirely, or bound by the "golden handcuffs", in a rent controlled unit they can't afford to move out of. There's very little left in this city.

I agree with you about SF.  I'm (Robert) a California political refugee from the Bay Area (Hayward) via Florida now in Nottinghamshire with my lovely English bride (Heidi) of 5 weeks.  The Bay Area has gone downhill so much in the last 20 years. :'-(  It's run down, dirty, and much more heavily taxed.

Enjoy the UK when you do get here.
